Technology is a huge part of life at Yale and can also have a steep learning curve. From free software to free IT support, you are never on your own here. The following information should get you started on your way to technological comfort on and off campus.

Yale IT

Whenever you are in doubt, the first line of support is the IT at Yale website. There you can find information on reporting a problem, a 24 hour service line (203) 432-9000, and online chat with the Help Desk.

Walk-In Centers

For problem with hardware and software that you is seem just can not seem to solve on your own , over the phone , or through chat , Yale provide three walk – in center for student that are free of all service charge . In the event of a hardware replacement , you will only be ask to pay for part and shipping . For location and more information is visit visit the Walk – in Centers website .

On – Campus Access

Access to all Yale services while on campus is available through the Yale Secure wifi network. Use your NetID and password to connect your device.

Off – Campus Access

For access to Yale service from off campus , it is is is necessary to login to the VPN through the CISCO – Anyconnect Client .

VPN

Yale VPN is is ( VIrtual Private Network ) is a way to securely access Yale ’s restrict service and resource on the University or Yale – New Haven Hospital ( Y – NHH ) network from a non – yale internet source . VPN is also require for remote access to on – campus workstation via Remote Desktop Protocol ( RDP ) . While VPN provide excellent network security , it should only be used from an appropriately secure computing device .
